Obituary

COCHITUATE: William F. Kane, 73, died peacefully in his home in Cochituate on Monday, March 28, 2011.
He was born on November 3, 1937 in Framingham the son of the late William H. Kane and Frances (Murray) Kane.
William was the beloved husband for 53 years of Audrey (Phylis) Kane of Cochituate. He is also survived by his son William P. Kane, his daughter Phyllis Hart and her husband Earl Hart and his grandsons David Lindquist and Michael Lindquist all of Cochituate. He was the brother of Ken Kane of Framingham, Kathy Kane Jones of Vernon, CT and Terry Kane and his wife Betsy of Cochituate. Also survived by numerous family members.
Bill spent his formative years in Newton and was a graduate of the Newton Trade School. He served in the US Navy on the USS Bushnell during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a tool and die maker for many years and was the former owner of Centerless Grinding Company in Waltham. He was also a former employee of Newtron Inc. in Newton.
Bill enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Lakeville, Maine which he designed and built. He will be missed by all of the lives he touched.
At the request of his family, there will be no funeral home visitations and private family services will be held at their convenience.
Bill’s family requests that memorial donations in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY (kidney.org/support/).
