Emma O. (Haanpaa) Kralian, 89, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus. She was born and raised in Floodwood, Minnesota, daughter of the late Selma (Anderson) and Samuel Haanpaa. While a resident of Worcester, Emma was a member of the United Church of Christ, and after retiring from Melville Shoe she volunteered at the Worcester Public Library for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Henry J. Kralian; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. Kralian and Kirsi L. Montalvo of Worcester; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra M. and Trent VanBlaricom of North Carolina; and 5 grandchildren - Nathan, Rachel, Mara, Greta, and Caroline.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 3, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. A calling hour will be held prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Haanpaa family plot in Minnesota. Flowers may be sent.
