Obituary

WORCESTER-John R. Thompson, 50, of 2 Holland Road died Sunday, January 18th after being stricken while ice fishing. He leaves his wife of 29 years Susan M. (Mason) Thompson, 2 sons, Kevin J. and Ryan P. Thompson both of Worcester, 3 daughters, Kelly A. and Heidi L. Thompson both of Worcester and Jill M. Thompson of Leicester, 4 brothers, Emil “Butch” Thompson of Worcester, James Thompson of Spencer, Gordon Thompson of Charlton and Donald Thompson of N. Grosvenordale, CT, 2 sisters, Virginia “Ginger” Thompson and Jacqueline “Jackie” Fleming both of Worcester, 5 grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Ozzie Thompson.

He was born in Worcester the son of Roy and Virginia (Neville) Thompson and was raised in Auburn and returned to Worcester after his school years. Mr. Thompson worked at McKesson Medical-Supply Company for the past 6 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting.

The funeral service is Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00 AM in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. After cremation burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 21st from 6:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
