Obituary


Middleboro – Dorothea E. “Dot” (Bailey) Winiewicz 93 formerly a longtime resident of Abington died Saturday March 26 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved companion for over 40 years to the late Clayton Hewins, Sr.

Dot was born and brought up in Skowhegan, Maine, daughter of the late Bernard F. and Emily A. (Cleary) Bailey.

Before her retirement Dot had been the owner and operator of a dog kennel in East Bridgewater where she had successfully boarded, bred and shown many dogs.

In her later years she was a resident of the Nemasket Healthcare Center of Middleboro.

She enjoyed gardening and spent many hours outdoors tending to her flower gardens.

She is survived by her children Clayton “Butch” Hewins, Jr. of Scituate, Linda Massie of Northbridge, Sharon Bush of VT, Cathy Siudak of Middleboro, and Lora DePalo of NH as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday March 31 at 4 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours will be held 2 hours prior to the service from 2-4 PM. Donations may be made in her name to the National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190-5362
