Obituary

Helen G. (Hennessey) Willis, 99, of Walpole, died, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Epoch Senior Healthcare in Sharon. She was the wife of Harold E. Willis who died in 1990.

Born in Norwood on September 8, 1911, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Fitzgerald) Hennessey.

A resident of Walpole for many years, Mrs. Willis had worked at Rust Craft Greeting Card Co. for several years and previously had worked at the former A & P Supermarket in Walpole and the former Guild Theatre in Norwood.

Mrs. Willis enjoyed summering in Mashpee on Cape Cod with her family. She loved to knit and crochet and also raised poodles. During the early 50’s, she volunteered as a driver for the American Red Cross.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth M. Willis of Walpole and Daniel D. Willis of Sharon, a daughter Claire A. Wenstrom of Foxboro, five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kevin, Shawn, Kathy and Mark and three great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Sierra and Shane.

She is also survived by two nieces, Carol and Clara and a nephew John.

She was sister of the late Ruth Pedersen, Arthur Hennessey and Mary Jostin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, March 30 from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole at 8:15 followed by a funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole at 9 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m.
