Marie E. "Muzzy" (Casavant) Tetreault, 80, of New Bedford died Saturday March 26, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of F. Maurice Tetreault; they were married for 60 years.
Born in South Berwick, Maine, the daughter of the late Alfred and Marie Louise (Tondreault) Casavant, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mrs. Tetreault was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School, Class of 1948. She was a devoted homemaker and mother.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Robert Tetreault and his wife Cathy of Saugerties, NY, Marc Tetreault and his wife Carrie of East Providence, RI, Denis Tetreault and his wife Ann of Fairhaven, and Brian Tetreault and his wife Jennifer of Willington, CT; four daughters, Capt. Suzanne Tetreault, U.S. Army of Washington, DC, Donna Martin and her husband John of Dartmouth, Doreen Tetreault of Dartmouth, and Linda Tetreault of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother, Roland Casavant of New York; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Alfred and Leo Casavant and Lorraine Parent.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 5-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
