Obituary

Mrs. Thora (Manning) Emery of Lawrence and beloved wife of the late Jack Emery, died at her home on Saturday, March 19, 2011. She was 96 years old.
Born in Andover on March 28, 1914, she was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Gennieve (Sweeney) Manning. Mrs. Emery attended the Lawrence Public School System and worked for First National Stores for 25 years. In her spare time, Thora loved to travel and most of all enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.
She was the mother of Marilyn Blanchard and her husband Joseph of Lawrence, Bruce Emery of Methuen and the late John Emery. Thora was the cherished grandmother of Jean-Anne Blanchard of Lawrence and Tricia Melvin and her husband Peter of Methuen, great-grandmother of Aiden, Jacklyn, Robert, Rebecca and Kerri and great-great-grandmother of Jamison. She is also survived by sibling, Mr. Richard Manning and his wife Dorothy of Methuen and was predeceased by siblings, Mrs. Joan Wright and her husband James, Ms. Willa DeGloria, Mrs. Margaret Finnerty and her husband William and Mr. Raymond Manning, all of whom she will be joining on the other side. She is also survived by her niece Kim Wright of Lawrence and nephews John DiGloria of Lawrence, as well as many more nieces, nephews and friends!
Memorial visitation was held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral; Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Tuesday, March 22, 2011, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was private.
