Obituary

LYNCH, Christine Mary (Sullivan) 82, of Jupiter, FL (Needham, MA) died on March 23, 2011 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of John J. Lynch (Jack) for 58 years. Daughter of the late Michael J. & Christine Sullivan. She is survived by five children: her son, John J. Lynch and his wife, Judy of Medfield; her daughter Christine Lynch O’Hurley and her husband, Neal of Canton; her son Michael J. Lynch of Waltham; her son Kevin C. Lynch and his wife, Karen of Canton; her son, James M. Lynch of Foxboro. She was the loving “Nana” to 15 grandchildren: Sarah and her husband, Joey, Michael, Jack, Brian, Allison, John, Christopher, Michelle, Ryan, Kevin, Patricia, Shawn, Carli, Jameson, and Griffin. Sister of the late Robert Sullivan and his wife Dorothy; twin-sister of the late Joan McGowan and her husband John of Medfield; sister-in-law of George Lynch and his wife, Alice of Bedford; Charles Lynch and his wife, Marlene of Dana Point, CA; Marjorie Murphy and her late husband, Jack of Braintree; the late James (Rocky) Lynch and his wife, Susan of San Jose, CA; Jeannette Lynch of Chestnut Hill; Joan Sullivan and her husband, James of Chestnut Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Chris received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lesley College in Cambridge, and studied at the Boston College Lynch School of Education. She taught at Mt. Alvernia Academy and in the Belmont and Needham school systems. She was a member of the St. Bartholomew Guild and the Guild of St. Irene at St. Sebastian School, and volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club of Martin County, FL.

Chris loved spending time with her family, especially at her summer home of 40 years on Lake Winnipesaukee. She also enjoyed playing golf and the many long term friendships made as a member of the Charles River Country Club and Jupiter Hills Club.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Christine’s life in the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. NEEDHAM, on Monday, March 28th from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral Mass will be said at St. Bartholomew’s Church, 1180 Greendale Ave. Needham on Tuesday, March 29th at 10 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

A memorial Mass celebrating Christine’s life will be said at St. Christopher’s Church, Hobe Sound, FL on April 15, 2011 at 10:30 am.
