Mary Nina Walton, age 77, died on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Landmark of Desoto Care Center in Horn Lake, MS. She was born on June 6, 1933 to the late Charley Lee and Donna Ann Dickey Edwards. She was a Nurse’s Aide and sat with the elderly. Mary was a homemaker who loved to cook, can and bake cakes. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching the birds and wild geese at her pond and she loved to fish.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. James Leroy Edwards officiating. Interment will be in the Broadstreet Cedar Grove Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS.
Mary is survived by her son, Dexter Jones of Coldwater, MS; her sister, Janie Ruth Helton of Southaven, MS; and a brother, Charley Lee Edwards, Jr. of Olive Branch, MS.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Walton; two sisters, Jewel Murphree and Beth Brown; and a brother, Howard Edwards.
