Manuel R. Jerome, 70, of New Bedford died March 25, 2011 at the Oaks Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, the son of the late Joseph Dias and Cecelia (Brava) Jerome, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Jerome was formerly employed as a truck driver with Teamsters Union Local 59 for many years until his retirement.
He adored his children and grandchildren. Mr. Jerome always lent a helping hand to many residents at Tripp Towers. He will be truly missed by all.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Beverly Jerome, Lois Jerome and Laura Lee Johnson, all of New Bedford and Sherron Correia of Acushnet; a son, Manuel Jerome, Jr. of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Manny was predeceased by his beloved brother Joseph Brava.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, March 28th from 4-7 PM.
