Harold Hashem, 76, of Norton formerly of Hanson, passed away on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in Easton. He was the beloved husband of Merilyn E. (Cameron) Hashem to whom he was wed on March 5, 1961.
Born in Randolph, MA on February 21, 1935, he was a son of the late Alfred Deeb Hashem and Edith (Hashem) Hashem.
He grew up in East Bridgewater and was educated in East Bridgewater Public Schools. When younger Harold had served in the National Guard.
A retired Foreman for the Turner Steel Co. in West Bridgewater, Mr. Hashem had been employed at Turner Steel for 39 years, prior to retiring in 1999.
A resident of Norton for the past 12 years, he had formerly lived in Hanson for 32 years and enjoyed many winters spent in Avon Park, Florida.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Harold treasured the times spent with his adoring family. He attended Faith Alliance Church in Attleboro, enjoyed camping and will always be remembered for his kind ways in which he helped others.
In addition to his beloved wife of 50 years, he is survived by his devoted children Juliann E. Naylor and her husband Donald, Jr. of Middleboro and Jeffrey P. Hashem of Norton. Pre-deceased by his 4 siblings, Mr. Hashem is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Ryan Naylor, Kylie Naylor and Nathan Naylor all of Middleboro.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
