Robert L. “Bob” Allen, 78, of Valdosta, Georgia, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, in Maryville, Tennessee.
Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, from 9:30 to 10:45 Tuesday morning.
Mr. Allen was born May 7, 1925, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Earl and Lillian Allen. A graduate of Syracuse University with degree in business, he was a retired First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Allen was a former New York City Police Officer and employee of Modern Fibers in Fitzgerald. He was a member of the Retired Officer’s Association, Lions Club and a former Mason.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife: Arlene Allen; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Robert W. and Joan Allen, Elmira, NY and Peter and Linda Allen, Seattle, WA; two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Kenneth Rader, Maryville, TN and Heidi and Wayne McGrew, Yakima, WA; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
