Neal A. Youmans, 84, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, January 16, 2004, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Sunday, January 18, 2004, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery, Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Saturday evening.
Mr. Youmans was born December 5, 1919, in Appling County, Georgia, to the late Algerene Soloman Youmans and Susan Adna Johnson Youmans. He was raised in Fitzgerald by his stepfather and mother K.K. Gibson and Adna Gibson. Mr. Youmans was the retired owner and operator of Youmans Carpets. A United States Army Veteran, he was a former member of the Fitzgerald Lions Club and Democratic Executive Committee.
Mr. Youmans is survived by his wife: Wansley B. Youmans, Fitzgerald; 2 sons: Earl T. Youmans, Palatka, FL and Sam Youmans, Douglas, GA; daughter: Wanda Y. Smith, Fitzgerald; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
