ANNA EVELYN EMBRY, age 89, a resident of Valparaiso and formerly of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
She was born on March 13, 1922 in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Ethyl Carmon. Evelyn was married to Welby Embry on December 29, 1937 in Beaver Dam. Evelyn was a member of Central Church of God in Portage, who enjoyed her family, and loved to watch television. Evelyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to all.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Welby Embry, her son Donald G. Embry, and brothers Gene Carmon and Wavy Carmon.
Evelyn is survived by her loving family, daughter, Anna Sue Davis (Gene), Valparaiso, Indiana, sons, James Embry (Lulu), Lake Station, Indiana, Welby E. Embry (Judy), Magnolia, Kentucky, and Leroy Embry (Jane), Georgetown, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Ball, Hobart, Indiana, and Helen Werner (Tom), Fort Wayne, Indiana; and other loving family and dear friends.
A funeral service for Evelyn Embry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington.
A visitation for Evelyn Embry will be held 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Owen Funeral Home.
