Robert (Bob) G. Edwards, Sr. 81, of Gage Hill Road , Pelham , NH passed over to Heaven on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Bob was at his home and surrounded by his family. Bob had been a resident of Pelham since 1944.
Bob was born on May 9, 1929 to Harry L Edwards Sr. and Lillian (Wagner) Edwards also of Pelham , NH . He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 in Pelham , NH .
He was pre-deceased by his first wife Constance (Genereux) Edwards and his brother Raymond Edwards. He is survived by his wife Linda (Gay) Edwards of Pelham, NH; daughters Karen (Edwards) Champagne and her husband Michael of Sandown, NH; Robin Edwards of Sandown, NH; Brenda (Edwards) Littlefield and her husband Lee of Derry, NH; sons Robert Edwards, Jr. and his wife Lori of Pelham, NH; and Keith Edwards and his wife Danielle of Pelham, NH; two step-children, Erica Kent of Bristow, VA and Michael Bearer of Pelham, NH; eighteen grandchildren; five step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; his brothers Leonard C Edwards of Pelham,NH; Harry L Edwards Jr. of Goffstown, NH; Norman Edwards of Florida; his sister Patricia Lapoint of Beverly Hills,FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Bob served in the World War II United States Army of Occupation in Korea . He also served as the Building Inspector for the Town of Pelham and had a life long business as a mason contractor. Bob loved gardening, building, boating and spending time with his beloved family and dogs.
Friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m on Friday, March 25th at the Goundrey and Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St. , Salem , NH . Services will be held at the Pelham Congregational Church, 3 Main Street , Pelham , NH on Saturday at 10 am . Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery, Pelham. A gathering of family and friends will take place immediately following the commitment ceremony at the Pelham Congregational Church.
