Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Florence R. (Fisher) Williams, 89, of 33 Maplewood Avenue, died Monday morning, March 21, 2011 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital. She was the wife of the late F. Gordon “Hoss” Williams, who died in July of 1998.
Born in Gloucester on May 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Gladys A. (Firth) Fisher. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and graduate of the Gloucester High School.
Mrs. Williams was employed as the office manager of the Gloucester Building Center for many years. She had also worked for the former Gray’s Hardware.
A talented artist, she enjoyed oil paints as her medium. She was also a member of the Cape Ann Seniorettes, having enjoyed line-dancing and tap dance.
She is survived by her son, Gregory W. Williams; cousins, John Amero, David, husband of Debbie Swekla, James Coleman, Elizabeth Berkman, Warren, husband of Rhonda Coleman, Alphonse, husband of Lee Swekla; and their families.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Lanesville. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the VNA Care Network, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 260 Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.
