Obituary

Alberto “Albert” Federico died Monday, March 21, at home in the care of his family, he was 86 years old. Albert was born and raised in Aquila, Italy the son of the late Giuseppi and Angelina Federico. He served in the Italian Army during World War II and for nearly 2 years he was held as a prisoner of war by the German forces.

Following the end of the war, Albert came to the United States in 1948. In the same year he married Frances Andreottola and together they settled in the former West End of Boston.
A mason by trade, he was involved in many large-scale projects in the area, including Mass General Hospital, the Museum of Science and the Alewife T Station. His hard work allowed the purchase of their home in Medford in 1958 where they raised their family.

Following retirement, Albert and his wife enjoyed vacationing in Florida and tending to the garden and his tomato plants. Albert had and affection for race horses and could often be found at Suffolk Downs taking in the races.

He was the beloved husband of the late Frances (Andreottola) Federico.

Devoted father of Joseph Federico and Phyllis Federico both of Medford.

Brother of Domenic Federico of Aquila, Italy and the late Francesco, Vincenzo and Emelia Federico. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street MEDFORD, Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8.

Services will conclude with entombmnet in Holy Cross Mausoleum,Malden.
