
SALEM- Stephen Paskowsky, 91, formerly of Salem, husband of the late Adele (Bogel) Paskowsky, died Thursday evening, January 15, 2004.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Bik) Paskowsky. He was a graduate of Salem High School in 1931. He later attended business school and was employed at the Charlestown Navy Yard during WWII.
Beginning in 1946, for over 20 years he and a business partner owned and operated Vera’s Delicatessen and Market on Main Street in Peabody. He was then employed at the Salem Hospital in the purchasing department until his retirement in the early 1980's.
Mr Paskowsky was a lifelong member of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Salem. During the 1930's and 1940's, he sang and played guitar in a local band.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jeanne Paskowsky of Andover, one daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Robert Clinton of Reading, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one brother Myron of Salem and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at 12 PM from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral service at 1PM at the St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 56 Forrester St., Salem. Visiting Hours in the funeral home, Monday, 4 to 7 pm, with a Panikhida service at 7 pm. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
