Hugh Mitchell, 83 of Derry, NH, died Friday, January 16, 2004 in the Integrated Health Services in Derry. Mr. Mitchell was born in Markinch Fife, Scotland on May 4, 1920, a son of the late Hugh and Betsy Mitchell. He was a resident of Derry for the past three years, formerly living in Hillsborough since 1988 and Lawrence, MA.
He is survived by one daughter, Lily Summers of Manchester, four grandchildren, Sheila Howley of Litchfield, Leverne Morgan of Tipton, IN, Maureen McEvoy of Derry, Raymond Summers Jr. of Boston, MA, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, James Mitchell, John Mitchell both of Scotland, one sister, Doris Rutherford of Scotland. He was predeceased by his wife Ellen (Jones) Mitchell who died in April of 2000.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21st at 1:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
