Mary Alice (Napier) Foley, 76, of Natick, MA died peacefully in her sleep following a long illness on March 20, 2011.
Mary was born February 4, 1935 in DuQuoin, IL to Marie and George Napier. She had seven siblings, Joanna Marneice, Margaret Ann, James, Grace Marie, Carol and Roselyn. She attended Sacred Heart School and then graduated from St. Teresa Acadamy. She married her high school sweetheart, Maurice V. Foley, August 29, 1953. They moved their four children to Massachussetts in 1965. They lived in Natick, MA and Wellesley MA. She worked for Babson College and then Channel 5, WCVB until she retired. Until her husband’s death they traveled to places near and far. She was active in 55 Plus, local senior centers and Curves fitness center. She also found new love with an old friend, Jon Edson from Apple Valley, CA, and they spent many good times together.
Mary was a devoted wife who survived her husband Maurice, She was a wonderful caring mother survived by her children Christina Foley and Terry Cassidy, Elaine and Paul Myers of Uxbridge, Daniel and Suzanne Foley of Sudbury and Thomas and Patricia Foley. She was a loving grandmother survived by Zachary and Lenora Myers, Scott, Jennifer and Lauren Foley, and Meaghan, John, Michael and Maura O’Loughlin. Mary Alice was predeceased by three children, Maurice, Alison and Valerie.
Mary will be buried at the National Cemetery in Bourne with her husband. The family will host a small celebration of her life on Thursday, March 24 from 5-7 at 68 High St. Ext., Natick, MA.
