Irene J. Powers, 83 of Derry, NH, died Thursday, January 15, 2004 in the Integrated Health Services of Derry. Mrs. Powers was born in Derry on July 16, 1920, a daughter of the late Edward and Philomene (Rolin) Latulippe and was a lifelong resident. She had attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry and the Banford Academy in Boston for hairdressing. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry where she belonged to the Tabernacle Society and had served as Vice President. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America where she was the past Regent.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Powers of Derry, two daughters, Kathleen Powers of Derry, Sandra Williams of Andover, four grandchildren, Karen Gosselin, Jerry Williams, Sandra Williams, Kimberly Rossignol, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Elaine Rendo of E. Derry, Leona Martell of Chelmsford, MA, one brother, Clement Latulippe of Salem, many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 19th at 10:00am in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry in the spring. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 5 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
