Franklin A. "Buster" Allen, 46, of Dartmouth died Thursday March 17, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Sharon Perry-Allen.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Dianne Johnson of New Bedford and the late Franklin A. Allen, he lived in Fairhaven and New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Allen was formerly employed as a commercial scalloper on various vessels out of the Port of New Bedford.
He enjoyed kayaking, camping, sport fishing, and restoring and driving his Jeep.
Survivors include his wife and mother; his siblings, Virginia Vinjerud of Fairhaven, Lynn Wright of Mattapoisett, and Martin Johnson of New Bedford; and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Steven C. Allen.
