Manuel Joseph Oliveira Jr., age 75 of Somerset, passed away March 16, 2011. He was the companion of Janice Joseph for 25 years & the former husband of Cynthia Lima of 30 years. Born in Somerset, the son of the late Manuel J. & Alexandrina (Dupont) Oliveira. Prior to retiring, Manuel was a Master Pipe-fitter of 40 years for the Plumbers & Pipe-fitters Union Local 51 and previously for Locals 626 & 276. He was an avid hunter & golfer, having run the former Suspiro’s Golf Course for 10 years. He was also a member of the Silver City Corvette Club and a communicant of St. Patrick Church.
Manuel was the father of Jeffrey Oliveira (wife Joanne) of Somerset, Susan Lopes of Fall River, Judi Perry of Somerset, Manuel J. Oliveira III of Portsmouth, RI, the grandfather of Jeffrey Oliveira Jr., Justin & Micaela Perry, Alyssa Oliveira, & Hannah Lopes. He was also the brother of John Oliveira of Somerset & the late Joseph Oliveira & Theresa Oliveira Medeiros, and the uncle to several nieces & nephews.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend Manuel’s Funeral Mass on MONDAY at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick Church, Somerset. Calling hours on SUNDAY 4-8 P.M. in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River. Kindly Omit Flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
