In Raynham, March 16, 2011 Robert A. McCabe husband of the late Sylvia (Hammond) McCabe died in Raynham with his family by his side at the age of 78. Born and educated in Bronx NY, Robert was the son of the late James and Kathleen (Gallagher) McCabe of Ireland. Robert was in the U.S. Marine’s Corp serving during the Korean War. He was a retired Aircraft Mechanic for Delta Air Lines in Boston of over forty three years and worked as a realtor for Caldwell Banker in Taunton. Robert was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship for his humanitarian services in the Raynham community from the Raynham Lyons in 2010. He was the past president and member of the Raynham Lions Club also a member of the America Legion post 405. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Robert was the father of Robert McCabe Jr. and his wife Susan of Falmouth, Neal McCabe and his wife Diane of East Freetown, David McCabe and his wife Kim of Sharon, Luke McCabe and his wife Jen of Raynham and Liane Schmit and her husband Jim of Raynham. Grandfather of fourteen grandchildren. Brother of John McCabe of Las Vegas, James McCabe of NY and Kathleen Cavadi of No. Carolina. Uncle of many Nieces and Nephews. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Sunday, March 20th from 3-6 pm. A Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham on Monday at 10 AM. Interment Long Neck Cemetery in Onset, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Raynham Lions Club, 2234 King Philip Street,P.O. Box 100 Raynham Center, Ma, 02768.
