EVANS – Mrs. Genevieve Frances Moiroud Jacobs, 87, beloved widow of the late Arthur E. Jacobs, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Legacy Personal Care Home.
Mrs. Jacobs was born in Grenoble, France, a city at the edge of the Alps, and carried a lifelong love of being near mountains. She met her husband during World War II and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years together in Georgia, Washington state, France and Germany. She worked in the cytotechnology and pathology fields for more than 30 years and was highly respected by her peers. She excelled at the culinary arts and loved traveling, especially to the mountains to collect gems and artifacts. She touched many lives with her cooking and instilled in her children an appreciation of French traditions. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother and Nana to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Frances Wolfe (Ray), six sons, Jean Louis Jacobs (Kathleen), Paul Arthur Jacobs (Kathleen), Daniel Joseph Jacobs (Terry), Edmund Andrew Jacobs (Sheri), James Henry Jacobs (Johanne), and Michael Edward Jacobs (Melissa), and a brother, Louis A. Moiroud (Janine). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with the Rev. Gaspar Hegedus officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Sunday evening, March 20, 2011 at 6:00 pm at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel, with visitation following until 8:00 p.m.
