MANCHESTER-Gertrude C. Vallee, 88, died March 15, 2011 at Villa Crest Retirement and Nursing Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on September 25, 1922 the daughter of Ubald and Marie (Lefebvre) Noury and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Prior to her retirement she had worked in several textiles mills and also worked at Martin’s.
She was a member and president of the St. Anne Sodality of St. Jean Baptiste Parish for over 25 years. She produced numerous variety shows for the benefit of the parish.
She was an artist and also enjoyed playing cards and hosting weekly card games with friends. She loved doing needlework and embroidery and holiday family gatherings.
She was predeceased by her husband Marcel J. Vallee December 26, 1986.
Members of her family include one son Marcel Maurice Vallee of Port Orange, FL, two daughters Mrs. Erwin (Simonne) G. Lane of Manchester, Mrs. John W. (Pauline) Cross Jr., of Hampstead, one sister Jacqueline Godbout, Sarasota, FL., five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations my be made to Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester, NH 03104..
