LOWELL: Elizabeth Helen (Jewell) Peaslee, age 92, a former resident of Tewksbury, Merrimack, NH and North Andover, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at the Wentworth Skilled Care Center in Lowell, Mass.
She was born in Concord, New Hampshire on June 8, 1911, the daughter of the late Asahel and Isabel (French) Jewell.
Mrs. Peaslee was raised in Tewksbury, Mass. and attended Tewksbury Schools. She was graduated from the former Lowell Trade School.
Mrs. Peaslee later moved to Hingham and North Andover. In 1986, she moved to Merrimack, NH, where she lived for over 10 years. Prior to her illness, she lived at Chelmsford Crossings in Chelmsford, MA.
Mrs. Peaslee worked most of her life as a housekeeper and governess. She was employed by several families including the heirs of Paul Revere. In addition, she worked for the Brooks School of North Andover and Phillips Academy in Andover. In addition, she was employed for several years by the former Beaconcrest Nursing Home in Lowell.
She was a member of the Community Chapel of Nashua, NH.
Mrs. Peaslee enjoyed embroidery, attending Bible study and meeting with the “Prime Timers” group at the Community Chapel in Nashua.
She is survived by her daughter; Jewel Rowe and her husband Norman of Merrimack, NH; her brother; Henry Jewell of North Andover; 3 grandchildren; Joel B. Guillemette, Jill Robinson and Janet Gowan; 5 great grandchildren; Sommer Mazzolla, Jody and Jordan Guillemette, Sheena and Zachary Gowan. Mrs. Peaslee was the sister of the late Clarence and Warren Jewell.
