Obituary

Constance N. “Connie” (Nevins) Poirier, 80, a longtime resident of Salem, NH died Sunday, March 13th 2011 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH after a brief illness. She was born on December 27, 1930 in Lawrence, MA a daughter of the late Patrick and Helen (Murphy) Nevins. Connie was once employed by Western Electric, MFE, and Digital for numerous years before her retirement. She was a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry. In her earlier years, Connie and her husband Richard shared their home on the Merrimack River every weekend with their entire family and numerous friends. She loved cooking and going on boat rides near Jackson’s Skyport. Connie loved her husband , children and grandchildren more than life itself. She always gave her home and heart to enhance the lives of other people when they needed help or just an ear or a kind word. She had a way of making everyone feel special. She will be missed by all but forgotten by none.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard Poirier Sr. of Salem, her four children, Richard Poirier Jr. and his wife Patti of Methuen, William “Buster” Poirier, of Salem, Debbie Lister and her fiance John Riviezzo of Methuen, and Darlene and her husband Paul Levasseur of Salem, several grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one sister, Patricia Walsh, of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Patrice Scott in 1998.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday March 16, 2011 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday March 17, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry with cremation that follow.
