MOREY of Avon, February 4, 2002, Gerald P. “Bud” Morey 87 years.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, Avon at 10 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visitation Friday morning 8:30-9:30. In lieu of flowers donations in Bud’s memory may be made to American Heart Association 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.

Mr. Morey died Monday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Brockton son of the late William and Nellie (Creedon) Morey and had been a resident of Avon since 1956.

He was a graduate of Brockton High School where was involved in school sports especially basketball.During WW II he served in the US Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.Mr. Morey retired as a sales rep from the Brockton Edison after many years of service.

He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Thorny Lea Golf Course in Brockton. He was also a longtime member of the Brockton YMCA.He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in AvonHe is survived by several nieces and nephewsHe was the brother of the late Anne, Bernice, Luella, Fred, John and Joseph Morey, Geraldine Donoghue and Mary Connolly
