Obituary

SPENCER; George William Watson, Sr., 91, of 2 Chickering Rd., died Saturday, March 12 at his home.

He was the husband of Clara Jane (Ford) Watson who died in 2006.

He leaves a son, George W. Watson, Jr. and his wife Susan of Spencer, two daughters; Eleanor M. Horan and her husband Paul H. of Webster, Rhonda J. Collette and her husband Gary R. of Brookfield, 9 grandchildren; Katie, Daniel and Adam Watson, Robert, Peter and Judith Horan, Crystal and Darryl Collette and Elizabeth DuBois, 8 great-grandchildren; Sage and Joseph Watson, Patrick, Ellie, Matthew, Kira and Kaylynn Horan, Savannah DuBois and nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by 3 sisters; Marion Varney, Leona Salter and Mildred Smith.

Born in Jefferson, ME, he was the son of George W. & Florence (Geyer) Watson.

Mr. Watson was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade. He served his country during WW II in the Army Air Corps. He owned and operated with his wife Springdell Farm in Spencer for 45 years. He worked at Norton Co. in Worcester for 8 years, then Maple Hill Coal Co., in PA for 18 years and retired in 1982 from Heald Machine where he worked for 16 years as a sheet metal worker.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Spencer.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 15 at 11:30 A.M. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, A calling hour will precede the Service from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in Union Cemetery, Charlton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Spencer, P.O.
