Mrs. Jeanne Johnson Pruitt
Augusta, GA---Mrs. Jeanne Johnson Pruitt, 92, died peacefully at home with her son by her side, on Wednesday, March 9, 2011.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm today Monday, March 14, 2011, at Westover Memorial Park with Dr. R. Leslie Holmes officiating.
Mrs. Pruitt was a native of Atlanta, GA, but had been a resident of Augusta for 52 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree, in Business Administration, from Georgia State University in Atlanta and was a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, during World War II.
Mrs. Pruitt was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Augusta Country Club, the Pinnacle Club and the Augusta Sailing Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edward Rex Pace Pruitt, parents, Eugene Thomas Johnson, Sr. and Annie Pearce Barnes Johnson, brother, Eugene Thomas Johnson, Jr. and sister, Louise Johnson Evans.
Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her son and daughter in law, Pace B. Pruitt and Kay Pruitt of Gibson, GA and her sister, Anne Johnson Cooglar of Atlanta, GA.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Trinity Home Care and Trinity Hospice, for the loving care and attention given to Mrs. Pruitt.
Those planning to attend the services are asked to meet at the graveside.
