New Bedford-Meirela (Nascimento) Neves age 68 years died Saturday March 12, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital. Meirela was the wife of the late Humberto Neves. Mrs. Neves was the mother of Osvaldina Andrade of E. Providence, Alcides Neves of Cape Verde Island, Ulysses Neves of New Bedford and the late Jorge Neves. She is also survived by 6 grand children, 1 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Neves was the daughter of the late Emilia (Nascimento). She was born in Cape Verde Island and she has lived in this area since 1987. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Assumption Church.
Mrs. Neves’s funeral will be at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., Thursday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
