AUBURN: Joseph E. Marsh, 85 of 47 Washington Street, formerly of Leicester died Friday Jan. 9 in St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill. His wife Irene A. (Kemp) Marsh died in 1998. He leaves a son Robert Marsh of East Brookfield, two daughters Gail Marsh of Worcester and Susan Marsh with whom he lived, a sister Lydia Wietscher of Baltimore, MD., 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Marsh was born in Leicester son of John E. and Augusta B. (Brown) Marsh. He was a stationary engineer for 25 years at U.S. Steel Co. in Worcester until 1977, he then worked at Felters Co. in Millbury for 15 years retiring in 1992. He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. He graduated from Leicester High School and was a member of the Leicester Federated Church, National Association of Power Engineers and was the Past Master of the Spencer Lodge of Masons, AF&AM. He enjoyed playing golf. Funeral services will be held Monday Jan. 12 at 11a.m. in the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Sunday from 1 to 4p.m.
