Obituary

Kelly, Cornelius J. of Dedham, age 86, died Thursday, March 10 at home. Born to Irish immigrant parents in Lowell, he spent his youth in Roxbury and raised a family in Dedham with his late, beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara (Concannon) Kelly. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and was employed as a printer with the Dedham Transcript, Boston Pilot and Boston Globe and later as a letter carrier in Norwood. Loving father of Barbara Ann Kelly of Dedham, Patricia M. Trovato and her husband Dennis of Woodinville, WA, Kevin R. Kelly and his wife Alexandra of Dayton, OH and Sheila M. Kemple and her husband Michael of Walpole. Loving grandfather of Sean, Colin and Adriana Trovato, Jonathan Thompson, Megan Kelly, Patrick, Lauren, Siobhan, Alannah and the late Barbara Kemple. Beloved brother of Nora Hession, Maureen McCarthy, Harriet Neary and the late Margaret Flynn and beloved brother-in-law of Eleanor and James Concannon. Beloved son of Richard and Margaret (Hart) Kelly. Loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was a Past Grand Knight of Dedham Knights of Columbus Council #234, Past President of the Dedham Retired Men's Club, long-term member of Dedham Town Meeting, American Legion Post #18, Scrambled Eights Square Dance Club and the Melodears Singing Group.

Funeral from George F. Doherty & Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Tuesday at 10am. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Dedham, at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Mon. 4-8 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Neil’s memory to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress St, #501, Boston, MA 02210.
