Mrs. Ellena (Murray) Fish, resident of Andover, passed away at Andover’s Wingate Nursing Center on Thursday, March 10, 2011 with her family by her side. One of life's truly elegant ladies, she will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
She was born August 14, 1915 in Camrose, Alberta Canada to Dr. Waldo and Alice (Sanborn) Murray. Ellena was a dedicated French and Latin teacher for many years at Dedham Junior High School. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Methodist Church of Dedham and most recently, South Church of Andover.
She will be missed by her loving children; Murray and his wife Bernadette Fish of Andover, and Marilynn and her husband Roger Core of Ft. Myers, Florida, grandchildren; Laura, Stephanie and Meredith Fish and Sara and Hillary Herstin and nieces and nephews; Guy, Kim, Jay and Menta Murray, Rick Rollman and Wendy Foltman.
Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Monday, March 14, 2011, from 5 to 8 PM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. A service to celebrate her life was held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at South Church in Andover at 10AM.
