Obituary

HOLDEN: Kenneth H. Johnson, 66, a life long resident of the Jefferson village section of Holden, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Holden Nursing & Rehab, after an illness.
He leaves many close friends. His beloved Labrador “Buddy” recently predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Eric and Flora (Berthel) Johnson. He was a graduate of Holden Grammar and Middle Schools as well as Wachusett Regional High School.
Ken worked as a printer for 30 years at the former State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America, now known as Hanover Insurance. He was a member of the Norco Sportsman Club, the North Leominster Sportsman Club, the Eight Point Sportsman Club, and the Leominster Sportsman Association. He enjoyed bass fishing, training Labrador Retrievers, and was also known as a champion skeet shooter.
Ken’s friends, Paul & Kathy Whalen, would like to express their sincere thanks to the visiting nurses of UMass Memorial Home Health Care and the staff at Holden Nursing & Rehab for giving Ken such excellent care.
There are no calling hours. After cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Ken can be made to the Youth Hunting Program, c/o Mass. Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, 1 Rabbit Hill Rd, Westborough, MA 01581. Kelly Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln St., is assisting with arrangements.
