
Laurine K. (Cawley) Phelan, 95 died peacefully surrounded by her family on March 8, 2011 following a declining period of health.
She was born in Bristol, Connecticut on July 16, 1915 the daughter of the late Peter A. Cawley and Elizabeth M. (Mulligan) Cawley.
She was the wife of the late Hubert J. Phelan who died in 1995. She was the beloved mother of Kevin C. Phelan and his wife Anne of Wellesley, Patricia A. Phelan of Wellesley and Brian C. Phelan and his wife Diane of Wayland. Devoted grandmother of five granddaughters - Alicia Erickson; Caroline Leto; Lauren Lipscomb; Kristen Phelan and Elizabeth Phelan. Also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Phelan has been a lifelong resident of Bristol, Connecticut before moving to Framingham a few years ago to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was educated and graduated from the Bristol schools and Marymount College. Before her marriage to Hubert she was associated with Mutual Bank in CT. She served on the Visiting Nurses Board and the Bristol Girls Club for many years.
Her family will greet family and friends on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from Noon until 1:30 pm at the Holy Family Chapel at St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St, Framingham. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm at the chapel. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Bristol, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations in her memory may be sent to the Phelan Scholarship Fund, Boys and Girls Club and Family Center of Bristol, 105 Laurel St., Bristol, CT 06010.
