WORCESTER-Mary A. (Laurie) O’Toole, 94, of 73 Wyola Dr. died Wednesday, October 10 in the Hermitage Nursing Home after an illness.
Her husband of 37 years, Gerald C. O’Toole died in 1971. She leaves 4 sons, William F. O’Toole of Worcester, Gerald C. O’Toole, Jr. of Ketchum, ID, Robert E. O’Toole of Dedham, David L. O’Toole of Worcester; 5 grandchildren. A grandson, Matthew D. O’Toole died in 1984.
She was born in Worcester daughter of James A. and Catherine A. (Barron) Laurie. Mrs. O’Toole was Switchboard Operator for Arrow Cab, Worcester State Hospital, and then Worcester City Hall where she retired in 1971.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. She was very active in Democratic Politics and Union movements in the area.
The funeral will be held Saturday, October 13 from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave. with a mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St.
Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, October 12 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Mortgage Fund, 1222 Main St., Worcester, MA 01604.
