ST. PETERSBURG, FL-Elsie Karcasinas, died Sunday, January 20th in St. Petersburg. She leaves 2 sisters Helen Pappas of Holden and Corrine Ballos of Athens, Greece and many nephews and nieces.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Nicholas and Maria (Ninos) Karcasinas, and had lived here for many years, before moving to Florida. Miss Karcasinas was educated in the Worcester Public School System. She was a long time hairdresser and had owned and operated a beauty salon for many years. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Greek Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg, and a former member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester. Miss Karcasinas was an avid tennis player.
The funeral was held in St. Petersburg, burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery, St. Petersburg. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, MA handled local arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephens Greek Orthodox Church, 3600 76th Street North, Petersburg, FL 33710.
