Obituary


Charles H. Webber, Jr. age 83 of Berkley, formerly of Brockton died unexpectedly Monday February 28, 2011 at his home. He was the husband of the late D. Beverly (Wright) Webber. Charles was born in Boston a son of the late Charles H. and Ferne (Ross) Webber and left high school to join the US Navy during WW II. During the Korean Conflict Charles enlisted in the US Army and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He remained in the Army until 1967 and retired as a recruiting Sergeant First Class. In his retirement he owned Charles Joke Shop on Belmont Street in Brockton.
In his free time Charles loved to fish and work in his vegetable garden. He had also been a member at a Masonic Lodge in Weymouth.
Mr. Webber was the father of Linda Eaton and her husband Peter of Berkley and Paula Francey and her husband Doug of Bridgewater. He is survived by three grandchildren Joel Eaton, Paul Francey and Lauren Francey and three great grandchildren Ava, Skyla and Jayda. He was the brother of Blanche Sims of Abington and the late Robert Webber and Christina Benoit.
A committal service with military honors will be held Friday March 4, 2011 at 12:45 pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are omitted.
