Lawrence V. Losurdo 86, of Westborough and formerly of Wellesley, died Sunday February 27, 2011 at his home.
He was the beloved husband of Mary (Saya) Losurdo with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
A Westborough resident for the past 16 years and of Wellesley for 35 years he was born in Syracuse NY, the son of the late Francis and Isabella (Sofia) Losurdo.
Mr. Losurdo was a Real Estate Developer in the Boston area and also the owner and developer of the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge, Convention Center, and Red Coach Grill in Portland, Maine.
Philanthropic and deeply committed helping to others, he maintained a lifelong passion for reaching out to underprivileged children.
He was an avid reader, advocate of physical fitness, especially jogging, and enjoyed the competition in playing sports.
Mr. Losurdo was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army in Europe under General George S. Patton.
Above all he was most appreciative of his cherished and loving family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons Francis Losurdo and his wife Bonnie of Natick, Matthew Losurdo and his wife Lisa of Holliston, Philip Losurdo and his fiancé Suzanne of Sherborn, three daughters Linda Schwarz of West Springfield, Jean Vincent of Boston, Lisa Losurdo of Framingham, one sister Isabel Losurdo of Syracuse NY, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sister in law Theresa DeMauro and brother- in-law Peter Saya both of Syracuse NY, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday March 3 at 10:00 A.M. in St Patrick’s Church 44 East Central Street Natick.
Burial will follow in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visiting hours are omitted.
