Donald C. Trevena, age 75, of Groton, passed away Monday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Mystic on May 25, 1935 the son of Carl E. and Helen (Tanajewski) Trevena. After receiving his education, he served in the US Army in Europe and Africa.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Trevena was co-owner of G & T Trucking Co. and was also employed by local oil companies for over 40 years. He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman and lover of animals.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Earl) Trevena; a daughter, Kristen Ann Trevena of Pawcatuck; two nieces, Linda Trevena of Mystic and Kathy Strong of CO; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Earl of Westerly and Brenda Earl of FL. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Trevena.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 5-7pm. A Funeral service will be conducted there on Friday at 10am with burial following at St. Patrick Cemetery, Old Mystic.
