Brenda Carol Avant, age 57, died on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, MS. She was born on May 15, 1953 in Quitman County, MS to the late Joseph Alton and Mary Ellen Davis Avant. Brenda was a member of Campground Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS. She loved everyone she met. Brenda participated in Special Olympics in Columbus, MS every year and she won 4th place in tennis at a national competition in Connecticut. Brenda lived with Clint and Pat Cade for two years before moving to Quail Run in Batesville, MS where she was a resident for about ten years.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Roberson officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Marvin Deboise, Jonathan Deboise, Chris Cade, David Cade and Jimmy Cade serving as pallbearers.
She is survived by six sisters, Patrecea Cade (Clint) of Water Valley, MS, Tommie Inez Foster of Greenwood, IN, Nina Quay Pindelton (Vidus) of Franklin, IN, Jeraldine Riley (John) of Groverton, TX, Patricia Ann Waldo (Dennis) of Greenwood, IN, Linda Richards (Marshall) of Hallsville, TX; two brothers, Billy Leon Avant (Mildred) and Clinton Wayne Avant both of Water Valley, MS; 27 nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lorene Avant, Joyce Irene Avant, Beverly Avant Davis and Betty Jo Coleman; and her brother, James Avant.
