Robert C. “Bob” Tipton, 86, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 at Thompson Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore KY.
He was a native of Etowah, TN, and a WWII Army veteran, serving in the China Burma Campaign, 1943-1945. He was a member of Highview Baptist Church, Suburban Masonic Lodge #740, Scottish Rite, Kosair Temple and a retiree of Phillip Morris Tobacco Corp.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Glenn Tipton.
Survived by a son, C. Donn Tipton of Sarasota, Fl; a daughter, Mary Jo Tipton of Altamonte Springs, Fl; a sister, Eva Leach of Kirkland, WA; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 11 AM, Friday at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Burial; Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation 2-8 pm, Thursday at the Funeral Home.
