In Taunton, February 26, 2011 Joaquim S. “Jack” Flores, age 77 passed away while surrounded by his family in Morton Hospital following a lengthy struggle with cancer since 2002. He was the loving husband of Maria (Deolinda Antao) Flores of Taunton. He was born in Castelo Branco, Portugal to his late parents Antonio & Rosa (Moreira) Flores. Jack has resided in Taunton since 1967. He was employed at the former Texas Instruments in Attleboro and Frank Nunes Shoes in Taunton. Jack was a member of the Taunton Sports Club, Taunton Day of Portugal Committee and Sport Lisboa & Benfica Club in Portugal. He enjoyed history, loved doing artwork and above all cherished the time with his wife and family. Besides his wife Jack is survived by his children Gina Flores Rego & her husband Antonio Rego of Taunton and Ana Paula Flores of Taunton and his god son Joaquim Felipe Gasper of Taunton. His grandchildren; Michael Flores Rego & Christian Anthony Rego of Taunton. His late brother Alexandre S. Flores and sister-in-law Maria Alida Flores. Jack also leaves his nieces Olga Flores Grilo & Nina Flores both of Portugal. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, March 3rd at 9:30am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church in Taunton at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Weds. from 5-8pm.
