Timothy J. Fitzgerald, 84, passed away at the Chelsea Soldiers Home on February 22nd, 2011. He was born in Malden on October 20th, 1926 to his parents Henry and Ellen (Daley) Fitzgerald. Timothy was raised in Malden and has been a resident for most of his life. He is a former resident of Everett and Medford. During World War 2 he served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy. For over 30 years, Timothy worked as an Ironworker at General Electric in Lynn. He is a member of the VFW in Malden and has been a communicant at St. Joseph Church in Malden for many years. He is survived by his children; Patricia Fitzgerald of Stafford, Virginia, Timothy Fitzgerald of Malden, John Fitzgerald of Chester, New Hampshire, Steven Fitzgerald of Everett, William Fitzgerald of Everett and Michael Fitzgerald of Beverly; and by his siblings; Mary Meader of Winchester, Joseph Newman of Swampscott, Francis Fitzgerald of Everett and Elizabeth Zumpfe of Malden. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Along with his parents, timothy was predeceased by his sister Sylvia Clark. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Monday February 28th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Joseph Church in Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday February 27th from 2-5 PM.
