TEWKSBURY - Sarah I. (Given) Elmstrom, 93, died Monday night, Feb. 4, at the Blairehouse ofTewksbury.
She was born in Everett, Jan. 14, 1909, a daughter of the late Robert and Sarah (Barrett) Given. She was raised in Everett and Woburn but lived the greater part of her life in No. Woburn. Shemoved to Tewksbury in 1995.She was active in Woburn’s North Congregational Church, as a deaconess and member of theCircle A Ladies Aid Society of the church.
In her earlier years she was active in the D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary, Post 88, in Woburn. She wasPast Commander of the group.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Robert E. and his wife Kathryn (Fucarile) Elmstromof Woburn, a daughter; Edith E. Wood of Tewksbury, four grandchildren, Terrence Wood ofTewksbury, Robert A. Elmstrom, Karyn L. Elmstrom, and Sharyn Elmstrom all of Woburn.
She was also sister of the late May Ida Foster and Winslow Robert Given, mother-in-law of thelate Roger G. Wood, and grandmother of the late Thomas R. Wood.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Feb. 8, at 11:00 a.m. in the North Congregational Church, 896 Main St. (Rte 38)Woburn, with relatives and friends respectfully invited. At her request all other funeralservices are private.
