Obituary

Joseph F. Albano, 84, of Franklin died February 22 in the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough. He was the husband of Winifred (Blaney) Albano.
Born in Somerville, March 2, 1926, the son of the late Patrick and Grace Albano, Mr. Albano was raised in New Hampshire and had lived in Franklin since 1960.
Mr. Albano had been a machinist for the Raytheon Company for over 30 years before retiring.
Mr. Albano served in the Marine Corps during World War II attaining the rank of Corporal.
He was a member of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge and Shriners of Wilmington.
Mr. Albano was a member and past president of the National Camping Travelers Association.
Joe loved to smoke his pipe and to go camping.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mark Albano and his wife Sue of Dewey, Arizona, Wayne Albano of Woonsocket and Cheryl Simoneau and her husband Dick of Northborough.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ian and Teara Albano.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, February 28 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 p.m.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.
