LEICESTER-Ruth M. (Heffernan) Traynor, 86, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
Her husband of 39 years, Edward J. Traynor died in 1987. She leaves her beloved daughter, Katherine E. and her husband Robert C. Lehman of West Boylston; two grandchildren, Edward C. and Emily T. Lehman; her brother, William Heffernan of Auburn; her sister, Mary Grenier of Scottsdale, AZ and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Barbara Ryan, Grace Earley and Helen Rochette, and her beloved aunt, Helen E. Heffernan.
Ruth was the daughter of William and Grace (Tisdale) Heffernan. She graduated from Auburn High School. Ruth managed the bookstore at Leicester Junior College and also worked for Crompton & Knowles. Mrs. Traynor was a member of St. Pius X Church, its Women’s Guild and served as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Dinettes’ and the Queens.
Visiting hours will be on Friday, February 25 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. BOYLSTON ST., W. BOYLSTON. The funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 26 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 1154 Main St., Leicester. (Please go directly to church) Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
