New Bedford – Ralph F. Macomber, 89, of Acushnet died after a brief illness at Mariner Health Care of Southeastern Massachusetts on January 9, 2004. He was the husband of Marjorie G. (Allen) Macomber.
He was born in Brockton, MA son of the late Edward L. and Abbie J. (Gifford) Macomber and was a lifelong resident of Acushnet. He was the owner/operator of the former Macomber’s Saw Mill, Acushnet until his retirement in 2003.
Mr. Macomber was a member of the Acushnet Historical Society and the Acushnet Conservation Commission.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters: Frances E. VonHacht of Acushnet and Marion J. Macomber of Mexico, MO; a son: Edward A. Macomber of Acushnet; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was father of the late Donald G. Macomber.

Funeral service Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the KIRBY FUNERAL HOME, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.

Interment in North Rochester Cemetery, Rochester.
